Hi. I’m the Training, Development and Safeguarding Lead for Active Lancashire. I started work as the Club Training Needs Coordinator on a 12-month contract in November 2008 and I am still here loving what I do. I lead on the development of the Workplace Health Champion qualification and the tutor workforce who deliver this.
As part of this role I am responsible for the Internal Quality Assurance of the delivery of the qualification ensuring we met the necessary standards under our training centre. I also look at the wider training and development across the county for coaches and volunteers which includes a large portfolio of short courses and other qualifications for all levels of experience from young leaders through to talent and performance coaches. The final part of my role is the Safeguarding Lead officer for Active Lancashire.
I’m also a tutor and deliver a lot of the training to support the development of the coaching and volunteer workforce. To me, the delivery of the training is the one of best parts as I love to see people develop, grow in confidence and improve their skills and understanding to help them develop further in their role.
In my spare time, I am a volunteer level 3 swimming coach and have been involved with my local swimming club for over 22 years.
If you have any questions about any area of workforce, club development, coach or volunteer development then please get in touch.
