Community Youth Engagement Lead

I joined the Active Lancashire team in September 2015 to manage the Satellite Clubs intervention. This role allowed me to meet lots of people and organisations helping young people to be active. Now leading Community Youth Engagement within our Children & Young People Team, I’m fortunate to continue supporting people and groups at the heart of local communities across Lancashire.

I’m a very proud Irishman, born in Dungannon, County Tyrone, and father of 2 wonderful children. I am a keen follower of my beloved Tyrone Gaelic Football team and a Leeds United FC supporter (it’s been a slog over the last decade!), so it was great to meet a Yorkshire lass at University, who I eventually married in 2005. She is of Indian decent, so the mix of the Irish and Indian leads to lots of family, food, music, weddings, and many celebrations!

Previous to working for Active Lancashire, I enjoyed 2 very happy years working as Sports Development Officer for Preston City Council. Some of my previous experience in the sports sector has been achieved fulfilling roles for local authorities at Wyre Council and Blackpool Council, working as a member of the PE team at St Bede’s High School in Blackburn and working in the private sector for sports coaching companies.

I am extremely fortunate and privileged to work for such a great organisation who share my passion and enthusiasm to improve the lives of people across Lancashire.

So that’s it from me, back to work…………always happy to help and support.

C’Mon the Mighty Leeds and Up Tyrone!
