Paul Blythin

Interim Director of Operations

Hi. I’m one of the Interim Director of Operations for Active Lancashire and joined the organisation in August 2014. My role involves being the organisational lead for our work with older people and disabled people, so I work with a whole host of groups and organisations to try to increase the number of sport and physical activity opportunities for older people and disabled people. As part of my role I am also the main contact in the organisation for the areas of West Lancashire and Lancaster. I also support our Chief Executive with our work with the Health sector. Recently I also became a Lead for Business Health Matters.

Prior to working for Active Lancashire I gained my undergraduate degree in Sport and Fitness Management in the United States before working there for a year in the sports performance industry. When I moved back to England I spent 6 years working as a Sports Manager at the Hurlingham Club in London before spending two and a half years working for British Cycling on the delivery of the Sky Ride Local programme.

I love all sports and will give anything a go, but football and tennis are my two favourites and I try to play as often as I can. When I’m not playing sport I can usually be found watching it and I am a season ticket holder at Everton. Please get in touch if I can help you with anything.
