Mark Stephenson

Operations Manager (Sport)

Hello. I’m the Operations Manager (Sport) covering Pennines Lancashire for Active Lancashire. I joined in 2007 as a temp and I've been enjoying working in sport ever since. Since 2007 I have probably done every role there is from temporary admin, safeguarding lead, disability lead, project coordinator, policy lead to my current role now.

In my role I am responsible for a number of areas. I work closely with NGBs to promote the opportunities Lancashire has to offer, I support local authority areas in Pennine Lancashire working with a number of partners from local authorities, education, clubs and other organisations interested in sport and physical activity. I also have a role to support the Primary School Sport Premium offer Active Lancashire has which is to help primary schools with impartial advice and support to best utilise the primary school sport premium funding in a sustainable way.

Sport wise, I love playing games and taking part in any activity, I enjoy cycling, especially big hills and mountain passes, the bigger the better, I play football and office league table tennis and I also enjoy wheelchair sports with Lancashire bombers wheelchairs sports club.
