Lancashire schools compete at the Indoor Sportshall Athletics events

On the 8th March and 16th March, Blackpool Sports Centre hosted the Primary School and Secondary School Indoor Sportshall athletics competitions.
Both events were a fusion of fantastic athletics, fun, team work and a whole lot of anticipation and excitement.
56 Lancashire schools took part across all the events: 26 Primary and 25 Secondary, bringing over 300 pupils to test themselves at various indoor track and field events which included; obstacle races, relay races, long jump, triple jump, speed bounce, shot and more. Pupils attending displayed phenomenal team work and not only supported their team mates but also those from other districts and schools.
While participation is the heart of the events and all schools/districts are to be congratulated on their performances, we must not dismiss that points were awarded to the placings for each event and medals and trophies were presented to those schools/districts with the most points across all the events.
