The Impact of the Primary School Sport Premium

We have put together a short video to showcase the positive impact of the Primary School Sport Premium on Physical Education in Primary Schools. The video showcases the support Active Lancashire and the schools partnership across Lancashire offered Our Lady Star of the Sea to allow for them to set out a vision for PE and School Sport. This vision was to put PE and School Sport at the heart of the curriculum and to ensure all teaching staff received high quality CPD to teaching staff. Active Lancashire and Lancashire County Council worked alongside the school to support this vision with a high quality CPD offering developed by Glenn Swindlehurst, the PE Advisor for Lancashire.

The programme was evaluated so we could measure the impact this vision, and the training had on the school, the teachers and the pupils and there were some amazing results. The video also showcases how this example of best practice was scaled up across 30 schools in Burnley through sharing the impact with the Lancashire Head Teachers Alliance and developing a strategic partnership approach to help schools make the best possible sustainable impact with the PE and School Sport Premium funding.
