Lancashire Sport Partnership change to Active Lancashire

We have announced the launch of our new name and brand. From 1st April, we will now be known as Active Lancashire.

Active Lancashire has undertaken an extensive rebrand to support its new strategy and organisational aims to bring partners together to create healthy lifestyles through sport and physical activity. The new brand will be underpinned by our strapline Engage in Sport, Improve Health, Inspire Communities to reflect the 3 focus areas of our work.

Started in 2000 as the local delivery arm in Lancashire for Sport England, the organisation started out as a small team of 2. Since then, we have steadily grown and now employs 34 staff, managing a portfolio of 27 projects and areas of work aimed to support the most in need in Lancashire get active.

Adrian Leather Chief Executive for Active Lancashire said: “There have been a lot of changes in national strategies for sport and physical activity and the needs of the local areas we support are changing too.

“After a lot of consultation, we felt this was an ideal time to reflect the wider work we do with our communities, encompassing health and wellbeing, in addition to sport and physical activity.

“We want to continue to build on the great work already done as Lancashire Sport Partnership and bring more opportunities for people in Lancashire to lead active, healthy lives.”

Active Lancashire is a charity that works in partnership to enable people to take responsibility for their health through physically active and sporting lifestyles. We will continue to support grassroots partners, helping and engaging clubs and coaches to improve skills as well as building emotional resilience and support long term wellbeing in the most deprived communities.
