Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council (BwDBC) is looking to recruit a Prevent & Channel Support Officer to assist the Prevent and Channel team to meet their statutory and safeguarding responsibilities by working with partners, overseeing and coordinating business requirements, monitoring expenditure and providing quarterly reports on budget profiles.
Based within the Community Safety Team at BwDBC, you will provide dedicated support to the Prevent Coordinator with policy/project management including the production of papers for a range of partnership, corporate and governance forums. As well as high level support to the Prevent and Channel team, including answering day to day queries, preparation of information packs and administration around the development of various initiatives to enable the successful delivery of the Lancashire Prevent Action Plan and delivery of the Channel programme across Lancashire & Cumbria.
We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal, communication, administration and ICT skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, support project management and work as a team member. The role will require interaction with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and the successful candidate will fully understand and commit to the Council values and behaviours.
This role will require frequent travel across Lancashire and Cumbria and to locations within the North West region and nationally hence a willingness and ability to travel is a must.
The post holder will be employed by BwDBC till 31st March 2021 (the role is subject to an annual review) and will be provided with specific training on how to deliver the tasks.
