The workshop explores how Sport & Physical activity can be used as an engagement tool to address social exclusion, anti-social behaviour and community tension and build stronger communities.
Participants learn the characteristics of ‘hard to reach’ people and how to effectively engage with them. They are shown how to recognise the causes and triggers of anti-social behaviour and they explore the development of tools and skills that enable people to take ownership of their issues and effectively manage challenging behaviour.

The 3 hour workshop covers the following and learners will be able to:
- Understand how to use doorstep sport as an engagement tool to address social exclusion, anti-social behaviour & community tension
- Describe the characteristics of ‘hard to reach’ young people & how to engage with them effectively
- Describe the causes and triggers of anti-social behaviour
- Know how to develop tools and skills that will enable young people to take ownership of their issues and effectively manage challenging behaviour
