About the project
Workplace Challenge is a FREE tool to increase the number of people taking part in sport and physical activity via their workplace. It’s a bespoke social media website that allows individuals to record their levels of sport, physical activity and active travel, and receive points for each activity that they log. Points generate leader boards, with a variety of different national and local challenges that individuals can participate in.
Aims and outcomes
The aim of the tool is to encourage individuals in workplaces to get active through the use of digital technology. Registered individuals have access to a wide variety of sport and physical activity offers, both locally and nationally, through the website and an iPhone/smartphone app. The tool is also linked to the British Heart Foundation Health at Work Programme and the Public Health England Workplace Wellbeing Charter.
For more information on the tool visit the site at www.workplacechallenge.org.uk/activelancashire or contact Martin Heald on firstname.lastname@example.org or on 01772 299830.
Log your levels of sport, physical activity and active travel online, whilst competing with other workplaces, friends and colleagues at the same time. The more activity you do, the more points you get... and points make prizes!
The Workplace Challenge also provides the opportunity for workplaces to engage with the British Heart Foundation Health at Work Programme, which includes champion training and resources for organisations to use to improve the general health of employees. In addition, employers registered with the Workplace Challenge can also engage with the Public Health England Workplace Wellbeing Charter.
