Lancashire School Games Makers
The Lancashire School Games Makers are at the centre of the School Games Festivals
Without them the competitions wouldn’t be possible. Over 75% of our School Games Maker volunteers are young people who have given their time throughout the year to help at Level 1 and 2 competitions in their local areas. The county festival offers a unique opportunity to be part of the biggest multi-sport festival in Lancashire as well as connected to a larger National competition programme linked to the legacy of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
We offer a variety of opportunities for School Games Makers to get involved and hope that there is something that appeals to everyone. The roles include:
Sports Volunteers are assigned to a specific sport and stay with that sport all day. Roles include, umpiring, officiating, scoring, judging and much more dependent on the requirements for the sport
Event Volunteer will be involved with the nuts and bolts of the event, helping to organise the opening ceremony, chaperone VIPs and generally make sure the event runs as smoothly as possible.
Media Volunteer will get the opportunity to be trained by media and filming professionals and will have the opportunity to be involved with a variety of things on the day, including: filming, editing, reporting and photography.
Cultural Volunteers will perform at the opening ceremony and encourage everyone to enjoy the moment and get involved. On top of this many will also help out in the cultural zone, encouraging people to get involved with the activities on offer.
