Families living on the Fylde coast are being urged to go along to Lytham Festival’s main arena on the morning of Saturday 21 July as an attempt to break a Guinness World Record will be taking place. The World Record will be for the most people exercising to a fitness video, which if achieved, would knock the current record-holders, China off the top-spot who currently hold a total of 4,814 people.
The event led by NHS Fylde Coast, held in partnership with local doctors, the festival organisers and Fylde Council, forms part of the Fitter Fylde Coast initiative which is a collaboration dedicated to improving the health of our population.
Local Dancing on Ice champion, Dan Whiston, has teamed up with the event organisers to prepare and film an exclusive exercise routine for the occasion, titled the ‘Whiston Wave’.
