5K Family FUN Run at Nuffield Health Preston

"5K Family FUN Run" at Nuffield Health Preston on Sunday 29th July supporting HEARTBEAT's 40th Anniversary GREAT SUCCESS!

Despite the awful weather on Sunday, buckets of rain, and with so many away on holiday, 15 took part which included young children!

It raised £102.42p - thanks everybody!

As somebody who is a BIG Supporter of charity due to my background in HM Forces, and who worked in sport nationally, is a member at the club, it was extremely well organised.

HEARTBEAT is the North West's leading cardiac rehabilitation charity and is based at Deepdale in Preston.

Heart disease is the UK's biggest killer with 1 in 4 people affected.

Their schools programme last year involved over 3,500 young people! It also trained more than 200 people in emergency life support skills!

It costs just over £1,000,000 every year to run their services all of which comes from voluntary donations and fundraising from people like you!

They receive no financial support from the Government, or the NHS, so every penny raised like this event really does count!

Special mention to Jess Wilcock the Duty Manager who organised the run, and Mel Blackmore one of the Personal Trainers who took them for the run. They were brilliant!

Well done everybody who took part, special mention to the children, credit to their parents.

Finally, thanks to Donna Clifford who used to work for the Lancashire Post who took the photos, thanks Donna.
