We are looking to recruit an experienced Youth worker to support young people aged 8-19 living in deprived areas across Lancaster and Morecambe, through the delivery of our Reaching communities Project. The project is funded by the national Lottery Heritage Fund and aims to reduce anti-social behaviour by providing support through youth clubs, sporting activities and detached outreach work. As a Senior Youth & Outreach worker you will support the project co-ordinator with the delivery of targeted sessions, youth clubs and detached outreach work. As well as this you will help to record the outcomes of sessions in order to track the progress of the project.
This role is weekdays only and will require you to work evenings.
The main duties will include:
To ensure effective delivery of the Y-Youth programme across The Lancaster Area.
Support the development of Targeted Youth Support and risk-taking behaviour services across Lancaster and wider, as appropriate.
The Delivery of planned activity sessions.
To recruit and engage with young people and encourage participation in the Y-Youth project.
Build and maintain relationships with Children and young people through a range of youth work, coaching and mentoring skills
