  • Location: Office based (Leyland) with travel across the County and occasionally the North West. Also remote working from home.

About Active Lancashire and the Job Vacancy

We are currently in a position to recruit for an Information Governance Officer. This is a new post to Active Lancashire and is part funded by the Business Health Matters Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.

Reporting to the Director of Business, this role will be responsible for being the data management and information sharing compliance lead on the Business Health Matters Project, providing data management expertise and communicating records management requirements to Business Health Matters colleagues. This role will also support the Director of Business to fulfil the organisation’s compliance requirements in relation to data protection and information sharing.

Business Health Matters Programme

Active Lancashire is in the process of developing a portfolio of projects linked to Workplace Health and Wellbeing. These projects (collectively named “Business Health Matters”) will involve working in partnership with a number of organisations such as Lancashire Mind, UK Active, UCLan and Leisure Service Providers in order to deliver a variety of projects and services to workplaces (SME’s) across Lancashire.

The projects and services delivered aim to improve the wellbeing of employees in the workplace and address both physical and mental health. The portfolio of projects and services include health screening, wellbeing planning and Workplace Health Champion Training.

The first project to come on stream is health screening in the workplace. We have joined forces with UCLAN to lead a programme which will upskill gym and leisure centre employees, so they are qualified to conduct health screenings within workplaces. The next project within the Business Health Matters portfolio is a European Funded project, which will be linked to skills development and in particular the training of Workplace Health Champions in SME’s across Lancashire. In order to deliver the necessary project outcomes, we are developing an accredited Workplace Health Champion qualification at Level 2 and Level 3 so that we can deliver training in the workplace and up to 5,000 employees could become Workplace Health Champions in SME’s across Lancashire. The Champions would gain a Level 2 or Level 3 accredited qualification and act as a champion for workplace health within their organisation.

This role is essential to the successful delivery of the Business Health Matters Project and supporting the Director of Business to fulfil the organisation’s compliance requirements in relation to data protection and information sharing.
