Salary: £21,922 per annum pro rata
Location: Blackburn (library)

Lancashire Women aim to empower women, operating over 30 years, they provide a network of female only centres to provide safe dedicated female only spaces for women across the country.


The role will provide 1-1 benefit, money, debt and budgeting advice for clients who have requested support. You will have excellent knowledge of welfare benefits, experience of supporting people and money issues and be a skilled professional able to improve the financial literacy and income circumstances of a range of clients.

Your qualifications & experience
Cert Map qualification or other relevant money advice qualification or 2 years’
experience working in benefits or debt casework.
Experience of Debt options and preferably DRO experience. (Desirable.)
A good standard of education and interpersonal skills.
Experience of partnership and multi-agency working to meet the needs of clients and the organisation.
Experience of providing welfare benefits advice especially sickness and disability related work with the ability to apply, ask for reconsideration and appeal decisions.
Experience of preparing financial statements and debt counselling.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Knowledge of safeguarding and related processes.
Experience of delivering workshops or topic focussed groups.
Good organisational skills.
Good use of IT equipment and administrative.

Your knowledge, skills & abilities
Experience of working with service users with multiple & complex needs.
Knowledge of the benefits system / universal credit / ESA and other disability
benefits.
Willing to complete Energy Advice training qualification for the role.
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
The ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
An empathy with those suffering discrimination and disadvantage, together with a good understanding of professional boundaries.
