Basketball England

Basketball England govern and enhance the sport of basketball in England. They encourage and enable people to participate in basketball regardless of their ability, age, gender, status, disability or ethnic background.

IM Basketball

Funding of up to £200 to set up an IM Basketball session in a School, College or University. IM Basketball is the simple way to create regular opportunities to play basketball, indoors or outdoors, incorporating both traditional and modified versions of the game. The free IM Basketball resource can be applied for through and includes everything needed to run weekly games or leagues for young people.

Ball Again

As part of England Basketball's efforts to increase weekly participation in basketball amongst adults, Ball Again is the participant-centred programme of coaching and games designed to attract the 'lapsed' basketball player back to the sport and is also open to those trying the sport for the first time.

Anyone can apply to run a Ball Again session through the website ( but we are pleased to offer funding support for selected partners.

Who can apply?

Affiliated clubs, associations, leagues as well as local authorities, leisure centres and leisure operators.

How many separate Ball Again activities per applicant will England Basketball consider funding?

A maximum of four.

Basketball England will provide a grant of up to £300 to successful applicants to run a weekly Ball Again programme for a minimum of eight weeks (with applicants able to apply to run up to four programmes). A successful applicant is automatically accredited as an approved Ball Again Centre with applicants able to apply for up to four separate activities. Successful applicants will receive 60% of any award in advance with the remainder payable at the conclusion of the Ball Again programme subject to Basketball England receiving a fully completed,(i.e. containing full details of all participants) official Ball Again Attendance Register.
